The ftp command is the user interface to the Internet standard 'File Transfer Protocol' (FTP). FTP transfers files to and from a remote network site. To use FTP, you need a computer with direct access to the Internet, all computers at computer science department of IOC have direct access.
If you want to transfer files to or from a host outside IOC, you can try using anonymous ftp if you haven't an account in the computer.
Anonymous ftp access for remote users to the cs.ioc.ee domain is centralised to the pub directory on the computer GRETA.
