ABSTRACT. In this article an inverse problem for determining the creep
function is under consideration. The problem is posed for the model of
string oscillation. Boundary data (perturbation in two points of the
string) are given close to a singular function.A certain method of
solution is proposed and estimation of error is obtained. Errors of the
method and boundary data have a common order in the maximum-norms, which
implies that the problem is well-posed.
