The purpose of this symposium is to provide opportunities for computer scientists in Hungary, Finland and Estonia to exchange ideas and present their current works. The scope of the symposium is not restricted, it covers ongoing research in the participating countries related to software technology with emphasize in programming languages and software tools e.g.
The symposium belongs to the series that began in 1989, Szeged (Hungary) and has been held every other year since. The symposium is geographically restricted: participants are accepted from Estonia, Finland and Hungary. Institute of Cybernetics at Tallinn Technical University in cooperation with Computer Science Department of Tartu University will organise the Sixth Symposium on Information Technology in this series of "Fenno-Ugric" meetings (the last one was held in Jyväskylä, Finland in 1997). The official language of the symposium is English. Instead of the traditional summer school this time 3-4 well-known lecturers will be invited to the symposium to introduce various hot topics in software tehnology. |
