Institutions and People

The rules and conditions of the Structural Funds measure of CoEs require that a CoE is composed of target-financed themes of the Ministry of Education and Research (HTM) or other significant projects.

EXCS is based on the target-financed themes of Tarmo Uustalu, Jaak Vilo, Marlon Dumas and Mare Koit, and on significant projects of Peeter Laud, Dominique Unruh, hosted at three institutions:

• Institute of Cybernetics at Tallinn University of Technology (IoC)
• Cybernetica AS (via its non-profit Information Security Institute)
• University of Tartu (UT) through its Dept. of Computer Science (DCS)
